Support Trails in 2026
Santa Maria Valley Open Space (SMVOS), a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is a dedicated group of volunteers creating recreational trails to serve the Orcutt community and Santa Maria Valley. Volunteers devote thousands of hours each year to build and maintain the trails. We depend on financial support from the community and sponsorships to provide the tools and materials for our work.
Your sponsorship builds trails, funds local school hikes, and brings new projects to our community. We greatly appreciate your support and will acknowledge our sponsors in our contact with the thousands of people following us on social media, hundreds of newsletter subscribers, media outreach, and other promotions that have reached over 75,000 people throughout the Central Coast.
Funding Highlight
We are currently accepting donations toward two trail projects:
- New and refinished trail at Orcutt Community Park — including wheelchair-accessible trail segments, a bicycle skills area, and interpretive native-plant plantings.
- The upcoming “Buns of Steel” trail — a stair-step climb that follows the telephone lines straight up Orcutt Hill toward the water towers.
